WHAT IS APTCH?

A Place to Call Home (APTCH) is a collective effort to prevent and reduce homelessness in Spartanburg County. Rooted in a shared commitment from government, nonprofits, schools, businesses, healthcare, and community leaders, we align strategies, inform resources, and drive action. Together, we’re building a more coordinated, compassionate response to housing instability.

These organizations came together to spark a movement — one grounded in collaboration, shared purpose, and a commitment to ending homelessness. As the Leadership Team, they have guided the effort from day one and continue to provide the vision, governance, and direction behind A Place to Call Home.

OUR APPROACH

PREVENT

Reduce environmental and systemic barriers to employment by prioritizing quality, affordable childcare and transportation. Keep people housed by qualifying and assisting at-risk households.

SERVE

Invest in and coordinate the activities of organizations serving the homeless, specifically those providing emergency assistance or offering behavioral health case management services. Build and operate more emergency/temporary shelter and transitional housing.
